YNM provides museum services directly to artists and culture workers of color and their communities. Our mission is to empower artists and communities of color to care for our own collections and tell our own stories. We do this by making critical resources such as art conservation, exhibition design, research, technical and administrative support directly available and accessible to those under-resourced and under-recognized by traditional art institutions. We leverage our professional skills, networks, and experience to collaborate with BIPOC artists and communities to create sustainable community-led projects while also investigating and addressing the root causes of inequities in the arts and culture landscape.
